A great reason to exercise! - COMFORT! July 3, 2009 Kwipper (Omaha, NE) 38 out of 39 found this review helpful
I had actually already purchased a bike that was...well...OK. It was a Schwinn comfort bike. I'm not sure why I stopped to look at other bikes but after a single sitting on the Serene Citi, I knew I was going to return the Schwinn. I'm totally thrilled I did. Great seat, smooth gearing and the handlebars allow you to ride upright with no lower back strain. I was able to go much further the first time out than I did with the Schwinn. Should you be a tall woman, please note that I'm 5'10" - this bike fits great!
An awesome, comfortable bike that can really handle bumps, hills and inclines-but still a smooth ride. September 13, 2009 D. Jackson (DC, USA) 23 out of 24 found this review helpful
This is my 3rd bike in a year, yes I am particular. AND...It is an awesome ride. Springy seat, 7 gears that change with a flick of the wrist in handlebars, 2 hand brakes. The bike is so phenomenal, that I feel like when I got on it that I was riding in a Caddy or something!:) WE have tons of hills and even worse inclines in our nicely sidewalked neigborhood, but this bike does not even have to go to 1st. I can keep it in 2nd and still make the hills with no problem. It does not have a kickstand, but that does not bother me because when I am not on it, it is in a bike stand at the market, shopping center, or anywhere I ride to. Value is phenomenal! I bought a Schwinn from Target a year ago and only paid 20 dollars less and it was a piece of junk, literally falling apart when I freecycled it. I have riden this bike in a month more than I rode that Schwinn in a year, and it is no worse for the wear. I took it to REI to have them put together and tune it, and they said that it was not the top of the line bike store bike, but it was definitely better than a department store bike, and I agree!!!
Very Comfortable Bike August 26, 2009 S Jones (Monterey, CA) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I am very short (5'1") and bought this bike in the small size. It's a great bike for an after-work ride or weekend exercise. It's durable and well-made, but it's best feature is the smooth ride it provides. This bike is a lot of fun! Riding is effortless.
Diamondback Serene Citi women's comfort bike October 28, 2009 Charles J. Martin (Lantana, Florida) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I was so happy that my husband purchased this bike for me. I looked around in the stores and was ready to get one but then decided to check amazon and this bike showed up. I love it. It was easy to put together. In fact the back wheel and gears and chain were already on. I just had to put the handlebar, seat and front wheel on. Also had to hook up the front brake but that wasn't a problem at all. The seat is very comfortable. I am 5'2 and I bought the medium size. It is perfect. I do have to purchase a kickstand though because I have to bring it in and out of my porch and it would be easier to stand it up than laying it down. This bike is really pretty and very sturdy. Couldn't be happier.
Best bike I ever owned! May 3, 2010 chiggy (Florida) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this bike from Dicks Sporting Goods. I am 5'10 and was concerned that it would be too small for my long limbs. However I test rode it at the store and was surprised at how perfect it felt, and fit! The size was just right. For all you tall people out there, don't be discouraged if someone tells you that your legs are too long for this bike. Not true! I am a pretty long legged person and all my concerns were put to rest after I rode it. I purchased the 17" frame with 26" wheels, which is the largest size it comes in. Of course I had to raise up the seat a little, which was fine. As soon as I left the store I rode it on the trails for over an hour, and let me tell you...the ride was incredibly smooth and comfortable, and so much fun! The gear transition is very smooth when you shift them, and the brakes are strong. My favorite feature of this bike is the seat! It is a suspension seat and I love it because it is very comfy and you get a nice little bounce when you ride over bumps. Because it is a suspension seat you may want to raise it up just a little higher than normal because it sinks down just a touch when you sit on it. I never once experienced any back or shoulder strain! The handlebars are high enough and at the right length away so that you will not be hunched over when you ride. Please note that this bike does not come with a kickstand so you will have to purchase one. At Dicks it was $8 and they will put it on for you. To spice up the look of my bike I purchased the Avenir rear bike rack and the Avenir excursion rack top bag. I live near various shoppes and eating places and the bag can hold my stuff nicely if I want to grab something to go, and I can also put my purse and keys in there when I ride to free up my hands. I strongly suggest that if you purchase any accessories for your bicycle that requires assembly, let the technician put on for you before you take it home. It took the tech a good 20 minutes to put the rack on for me, I guess its a lot harder than it looks! Also, in order to carry the bicycle on a car rack, you have to put it on upside down, and the straps will fit snugly over the body. This bicyle is very sturdy and durable, and made of high quality material. I am sure I will be enjoying it for a long time to come. I highly reccomend this bicyle to anyone who loves good quality and comfort, and a sleek looking bike!
